PDP urges supporters not to back down amid Ondo election pressure
On Thursday, November 14, the Acting National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Damagum, urged party supporters in Ondo State to stand strong and not give in to any form of intimidation ahead of the state’s governorship election on Saturday.
Speaking at the final campaign rally for the PDP’s governorship candidate, Mr. Agboola Ajayi, in Akure, Damagum encouraged the crowd to vote for the PDP and protect their votes until the very end of the counting process.
“This Saturday is your day to decide the future of Ondo State. I urge you to drive the All Progressives Congress (APC) out of power with your votes,” Damagum told the cheering crowd. He reminded the people that during the PDP’s time in government, the state saw many positive changes.
Damagum emphasized that if the PDP wins, it would put an end to poverty and hardship in the state, pointing to Oyo and Osun States as examples where the PDP government had brought about significant improvements.
He criticized the APC-led government in Ondo, calling it “without policies or ideas,” and said the state had fallen behind in development.
Also speaking at the rally, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State rallied the crowd, urging them to unite and vote out the APC government. “Ondo is a state known for knowledge, and it should not be ruled by people who lack ideas,” he said.
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State encouraged supporters to connect with people on the ground and bring even more support for the PDP. “Let your votes be your power,” Makinde said, urging no one to engage in violence but to peacefully end the APC-led government through the election.
As Saturday’s election draws near, the PDP is determined to inspire its supporters to take action and ensure their voices are heard.
