FG working hard to tackle security problems – Minister Tunji-Ojo
The Nigerian Government is doing everything it can to solve the country’s security problems, according to the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
On Tuesday, November 12, during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Tunji-Ojo shared that the top leaders in charge of the country’s safety are working day and night to make sure Nigerians are protected.
“Nobody is resting. Not the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, not the Minister of Defence, not the Chief of Defence Staff, not the Department of State Services (DSS),” Tunji-Ojo said. “Everyone is awake and working hard. This security challenge is a big problem, and we won’t shy away from our responsibility to keep Nigerians safe on behalf of the President.”
The minister explained that security in the country has improved since President Bola Tinubu took office. He added that the Nigerian military has made significant progress in weakening groups like Boko Haram and ISWAP (the Islamic State of West Africa Province).
Tunji-Ojo also urged Nigerians to be patient and not judge the President too quickly. He explained, “The President understands these security issues very well. Don’t judge him by promises. Words are easy, but what really matters is what we do.”
He reminded everyone that even though the government has made progress, there is still work to do. “Have we reached the goal we want? No. But we are making progress, and we’re not where we started,” Tunji-Ojo said.
