Aduku praises Edo Queens after strong win in CAF Women’s Champions League debut
On Sunday night, November 10, 2024, Edo Queens made an impressive debut in the CAF Women’s Champions League, defeating Commercial Bank FC (CBE FC) of Ethiopia 3-0 in Casablanca.
The Nigerian champions were in top form, with goals from Emem Essien, Folashade Ijamilusi, and Chukwuamaka Osigwe sealing the victory. After the game, head coach Moses Aduku was full of praise for his players, saying they deserved the win.
“We played a wonderful game, and the victory was sweet,” Aduku told the club’s media team. “We got our chances, and we took them. The game was tough, and our opponent was no pushover, but we denied them the chance to play their game. We stayed focused and scored when it mattered.”
Aduku also shared that his team’s mindset was focused on winning their first game. “If you want to stay in the competition, you need to win your first game. That was our goal,” he said. “As debutants, we knew that a win would give us the chance to keep moving forward.”
Next up for Edo Queens is a match against FC Masar of Egypt on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.
