Europa League: Osimhen faces crucial late fitness test ahead of Galatasaray vs Tottenham clash
Victor Osimhen will undergo a late fitness test to determine if he is fit to play in Galatasaray’s UEFA Europa League match against Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday, November 7.
Osimhen, who has been sidelined with a minor injury, only returned to full training on Tuesday, leaving his participation in the upcoming match in doubt. Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk addressed the situation in his pre-match press conference, revealing that a final decision on Osimhen’s availability will be made after the team’s last training session before the game.
“We played different systems in the last two matches, but our main game is a four-player defence,” Buruk explained. “We change these depending on the player and the opponent. Victor Osimhen trained, and we will make a decision about him and other players. We will try to clarify this in the last training. Galatasaray tries to play its own game in every match, against every opponent. The same thing will happen again.”
The match will take place at RAMS Park in Istanbul, where Galatasaray will look to build on their strong form in the competition.
Osimhen, who has scored four goals and registered three assists in seven appearances across all competitions this season, has been a key figure for Galatasaray. His potential absence would be a significant blow to the Turkish side as they prepare to face a tough opponent in Tottenham.
