Minors freed in End Bad Governance protest arrive at Presidential Villa

The minors recently freed by the Federal Government for their involvement in the End Bad Governance protests have arrived at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where they are set to meet with government officials.

The release follows the Federal Government’s decision to drop the treason charges that had been levied against the minors, who participated in protests across the country.

A source within the presidency confirmed that the governors of Kano and Kaduna States—Abba Yusuf and Uba Sani—are already on-site to receive the minors. After their meeting at the Villa, the minors will be handed over to their families for reintegration into their communities.

The meeting with government officials is scheduled to begin at 2 pm today at the State House Auditorium.

This move follows a directive from President Bola Tinubu, issued on Monday, and a decision by the Attorney General of the Federation, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN. On Tuesday morning, Fagbemi took over the case file and notified the Federal High Court in Abuja of his decision to discontinue the case against the protesters.

Further updates will follow as the meeting progresses.
