Four injured in Lagos-Badagry Expressway accident

On Sunday, November 3, four people were injured when a Mazda commercial bus collided with a Toyota car on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.

William Manga, the unit commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Badagry, confirmed the incident on Monday. The accident happened around 3:20 p.m., near the Agbo-Malu Bus Stop on the Age-Mowo axis of the expressway.

“Our personnel were alerted about the accident immediately, and we arrived at the scene just three minutes later, at 3:23 p.m.,” Manga said.

The collision involved a Mazda commercial bus with registration number ABJ 95 YJ and a Toyota car with registration number KTU 339 YJ, both traveling from Badagry. A total of 18 people were involved in the accident, but only four sustained injuries and were taken to the General Hospital in Badagry for treatment.

Manga attributed the accident to dangerous driving by both drivers. He noted that the vehicles involved have been removed from the scene and taken to the FRSC office in Badagry.

He urged passengers to speak up and caution drivers against speeding, and reminded all motorists to be mindful of their speed on the one-lane expressway.
