VeryDarkMan files petition against Hon. Ikwechegh over assault incident
Social media critic Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, has officially filed a petition against Alex Ikwechegh, a member of the Federal House of Representatives, following an alleged assault on a Bolt driver, Stephen Abuwatseye.
The petition comes in the wake of a viral video showing the Abia lawmaker threatening to physically harm the driver and lock him in his generator house. Reports indicate that Ikwechegh also slapped Abuwatseye during the altercation and made ominous threats about making him “disappear.”
The petition, which alleges multiple offenses including abuse of power, assault, attempted murder, and threats to life, was signed by VeryDarkMan’s lawyer, activist Deji Adeyanju.
In a subsequent interview with VeryDarkMan, Abuwatseye detailed his troubling encounter with Ikwechegh, highlighting the lawmaker’s aggressive behavior and intimidation tactics. This incident has sparked widespread outrage on social media, prompting calls for accountability and justice for the assaulted driver.
The situation raises significant concerns about the conduct of elected officials and the safety of ordinary citizens in Nigeria.
