Super Falcons set to rebound from Olympic disappointment in upcoming friendlies

Super Falcons interim coach Justine Madugu has emphasized the importance of a strong performance against Algeria as the team seeks to recover from a disappointing outing at the 2024 Olympic Games. The West African squad lost all three of their group matches in Paris.

With the upcoming double-header friendlies marking the start of a new era under Madugu, he has urged his players to deliver “a masterclass performance” against the Algerians.

“We have been having useful sessions since we resumed on Monday. I am impressed with the discipline and sense of dedication of the players, and I am looking forward to a masterclass performance by the Super Falcons in both games,” Madugu stated, as reported on thenff.com.

He acknowledged the respect the team has for Algeria, while stressing the need to bounce back from their Olympic performance to restore confidence and a positive spirit.

The Super Falcons will face the Green Ladies on October 26 and October 29, with the matches taking place in Ikenne and Lagos.
