Governor Idris approves N75,000 minimum wage for civil servants in Kebbi

On Wednesday, October 23, Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris announced the approval of N75,000 as the minimum wage for the lowest-paid civil servants in the state.

Governor Idris signed the state minimum wage edict into law at the state house, with national officials from the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), including President Joe Ajaero, present for the occasion.

Governor Idris has been a strong advocate for implementing the new minimum wage, even when many other state governors claimed they couldn’t afford it. He firmly believed that state governors have the capacity to pay the wage.
