AFCON 2025: Eguavoen expresses confidence in Super Eagles against Libya

Super Eagles caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen has acknowledged that Libya will pose a formidable challenge for his team but remains optimistic about securing a victory.

Nigeria is set to face the Mediterranean Knights in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matchday three encounter in Uyo on Friday.

The Super Eagles currently lead Group D with four points from two matches. Eguavoen noted that while his team is favored to win, Libya will be determined to avoid defeat.

“They have one point and are bottom of the group. We are aware of our position, and they are aware of their position,” Eguavoen stated during a press briefing. “They will come here and fight. We are not thinking about the away game; our focus is the game in front of us on Friday.”

He emphasized the importance of securing all three points, saying, “We know what it means to get the job done as quickly as possible. It is going to be tough, but the boys are in good spirits. We have no injuries, and everyone is ready.”
