Nollywood’s latest blockbuster, ‘first chronicles of the island’, set to hit theaters

Nollywood fans are in for a treat as the highly anticipated film, ‘First Chronicles of the Island’, prepares to hit theaters nationwide.

The movie, directed by Austine Lordlaz and produced by Darlene Cobham, Alberta Irimagha, and Inyingi Irimagha, had its exclusive private screening and media exposure on October 3, 2024, at Blue Pictures Cinema, Onikan, Lagos Island.

‘First Chronicles of the Island’ boasts an impressive ensemble cast, featuring top Nollywood actors such as Bimbo Manuel, Segun Arinze, Afeez Oyetoro (Saka), Linda Osifo, and Bishop Imeh (Okon Lagos), among others. The film’s unique blend of comedy and drama promises to keep audiences entertained.

According to Director Austine Lordlaz, the film is a comedic Mockumentary that takes viewers on a wild ride with “unbelievable characters and unrelated events.” Lordlaz’s unconventional narrative intentionally weaves together seemingly out-of-place elements into an entertaining whole. The film’s incorporation of humanoid animation adds a unique flair, tackling pressing issues such as global warming and poor customer service.
