Oyo government to hire 791 new civil servants

The Oyo State Government is set to hire 791 new officers for different roles in its civil service.

On Wednesday, October 2, Alhaji Kamoru Aderibigbe, the Chairman of the State Civil Service Commission, announced this news in Ibadan while speaking with reporters.

He explained that the recruitment will include 230 education officers and 561 other positions, marking the largest hiring in the civil service in the past 20 years.

Aderibigbe mentioned that interested applicants can apply online by visiting the state government job portal at www.jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng from October 7 to October 11. He emphasized that using the online application process will help ensure fairness and transparency in hiring.

He also shared the requirements for applicants: those applying for positions that need a degree must be university graduates with at least a second-class honors degree.

For positions requiring a Higher National Diploma (HND), applicants must have a lower credit from a polytechnic.

All university and polytechnic graduates should have their NYSC discharge or exemption certificates by the time they apply. Additionally, candidates for positions needing the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) must have at least a merit grade.

Aderibigbe assured that the commission will focus on hiring qualified individuals without any political influence.
