APGA wins all local government seats in Anambra elections

On Saturday, September 28, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) was declared the winner of the local government elections in Anambra State. They won all the chairmanship and councillorship seats in the 21 local government areas.

Genevieve Osakwe, the chairperson of the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC), shared the exciting news at the ANSIEC office in Awka.

She said, “This is to affirm the result of the chairmanship and councillorship election held on September 28, 2024. The commission carefully collated and analyzed the results to ensure that there were no mistakes.”

Osakwe explained that no candidates from other political parties showed up at the office to contest the results. She praised the people of Anambra for coming out to vote and thanked the security agencies for keeping everything peaceful.

She continued, “We carefully collated and analyzed the results to ensure that there were no mistakes. All the scores and the parties were announced at the polling units yesterday. We are here today to affirm the results as recorded. Election held at all the polling units across Anambra State on September 28, and it was free, fair and credible.”
