On Thursday, September 26, Justice Haleemah Salman of the Kwara State High Court announced that five suspects involved in the Offa robbery were found guilty of serious crimes, including illegal possession of firearms and armed robbery.
During her five-hour judgment in Ilorin, Justice Salman explained that these actions are very serious and can lead to the ultimate punishment. As a result, she sentenced them to death by hanging.
The robbery happened on April 5, 2018, in Offa. It was a tragic event where the robbers caused great harm and sadness, taking the lives of 39 people, including police officers and pregnant women.
