Yomi Fabiyi announces protest for Mohbad at Lagos Assembly on September 30

Nollywood actor and activist Yomi Fabiyi has announced plans to lead a protest at the Lagos State House of Assembly on September 30 to demand justice for the late singer Mohbad.

This date coincides with the resumption of the coroner’s inquest into Mohbad’s death.

In an Instagram post on Monday, Fabiyi called on the public to join him in advocating for the retrieval of CCTV footage from Mohbad’s house, which he believes is crucial for uncovering the truth surrounding his passing.

He emphasized the importance of peaceful protest, stating, “It is imperative that we mount legitimate pressure and protest peacefully to the gate of the Lagos State House of Assembly on the 30th of September, 2024.”

Fabiyi expressed concern over efforts to cover up details about Mohbad’s death, claiming that “those who cut Mohbad’s life short are spending millions of naira to see that they cover up.” He insisted that the CCTV cameras at Mohbad’s residence were operational and could provide vital information.

“Why the Police did not wish to retrieve it can be very frustrating. We the masses do not want to put laws into our hands… hence we need the true representative of the people of Lagos State to wade in and set up a committee to summon, visit and bring the truth out,” he added.

He urged supporters to come together for the cause, saying, “COME ONE, COME ALL, AND LET’S SPEAK IN ONE VOICE on the 30th of September 2024. This struggle needs you. Be orderly and civil when attending.”
