Fire damages Governor Mbah’s Pinnacle Oil filling station

On Friday, September 20, 2024, a fire broke out at the Pinnacle Oil filling station owned by Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State. Reports indicate that the fire was set by unknown arsonists who arrived in a Toyota Corolla.

Enugu State Commissioner of Police, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, confirmed the incident, stating that fortunately, no lives were lost, and the fire has since been extinguished.

“A fire incident occurred at Pinnacle Filling Station on Agbani Road, Enugu, in the morning hours today,” Uzuegbu said. “The fire was quickly put out with the help of personnel from both federal and state fire services, who responded promptly.”

While no injuries were reported, three vehicles waiting to buy fuel were damaged in the fire. The police have since restored normalcy to the area.

Initial investigations suggest that the fire may have been caused by a fuel leak from one of the vehicles at the station. CP Uzuegbu, who led police officers to the scene, has instructed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to carry out a full investigation into the incident.
