Zinwe says BBNaija made their relationship stronger

Zinwe, the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) ‘No Loose Guard’ couple, Zion Ogiefa and Chinwe Elibe, shared how the reality show positively impacted their relationship during a virtual interview on Thursday, August 29, in Lagos.

Even though they were evicted on Sunday, August 25, Zion and Chinwe opened up about the challenges they faced while on the show. They admitted that their time in the house had its ups and downs, which led them to briefly end their relationship.

Chinwe said, “Going into the show has impacted positively on our relationship. Now, we know how to handle situations better. If we hadn’t been on the show, we would have our real-life issues and would have handled it differently and probably even broken up earlier.

“Going on as a couple in Biggie’s house gave us the chance to face our problems together, and getting through that made us stronger.”

Zion added, “The Big Brother Naija show was definitely a learning experience for us. We’ve learned patience and resilience. I had great relationships with most of the people in the house, so it was not a bad experience. It was fun and a learning experience. I got to meet people I didn’t know before and learn about new cultures.”

Despite the rough patches they experienced during the show, the Zinwe pair reassured their fans that their relationship remains strong.

Zion said, “Big Brother Naija has come and gone, but our relationship is still standing strong. We didn’t start the relationship because of BBNaija, so it won’t end because of it. Going into the show, our relationship was only five months old, so it was still young to be on such a big stage.

“We knew it would come with a lot of criticism and scrutiny, and we were ready for that. Rocky days in a relationship are normal. If there are no rocky days, it means the relationship isn’t healthy. The rocky days were a learning process for us.”
