Nigerian singer Dammy Krane has publicly accused fellow artist Davido of being behind his recent arrest.
In a series of X posts, Dammy Krane claimed that he was detained by the police under Davido’s orders, alleging that the arrest was a result of defamation accusations. He also suggested that there are plans to falsely implicate him in crypto scams.
“If anything happens to me, @davido should be held responsible. Oppressor @davido has paid them to arrest me,” Dammy Krane wrote. “They wrote a petition, lying that I am involved in Flutterwave & Crypto scams just to arrest me. This is how they use corrupt cops to tarnish the reputation of the police.”
The dispute between Dammy Krane and Davido began in 2023 when Dammy Krane publicly accused Davido of owing him money. Davido responded by calling Dammy Krane ungrateful.
The feud escalated when Dammy Krane also accused Davido of being involved in the death of his friend, Tagbo Umeike, who died in 2017 due to alleged alcohol poisoning following a birthday party at Shisha Lounge in Lekki, Lagos.
Veteran fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde, known as KWAM 1 De Ultimate, has called for peace between Dammy Krane and Davido during a recent live performance.
