Olympique Marseille manager Roberto De Zerbi has issued a stern warning to newly-signed forward Mason Greenwood following his transfer from Manchester United.
De Zerbi disclosed that he gave Greenwood a firm admonition during their initial phone conversation, emphasizing the importance of taking Marseille seriously.
“Greenwood was the first player I called. I spoke with his father, who is about my age,” De Zerbi told L’Equipe.
“I made it clear to him the expectations of this club, saying: ‘OM is OM.’
“He responded, ‘I remember the historic OM, which played in European Cup finals.’”
